1 John 4:19 - sums it all up for me. Plain and simple. We’re called to love one another because He first loved us. He loves us in spite of our sin, bad decisions, failures, complacency, and short comings. He simply loves us. So who are we to think that we can choose to hate someone for theirs? The Word doesn’t say to love someone only if they have your same views or if their sin looks like yours or if they agree. The Word says to LOVE. No stipulations or rules or conditions. I won’t agree with lifestyles that oppose the Word of God. But I’ll still love you. I won’t agree with political views that oppose the Word of God. But I’ll still live you. I won’t agree with religions or subcultures that oppose the Word of God. But I’ll still love you.
