Wrong assumptions about game development 👾🎮 | Pt. 3 Game Developers play video games all day. 🤔 This is one I hear a lot. People thinking we play a lot of video games during the day. It's even why a lot of people even pursue game development in the first place. But the reality is far from that.. Instead you actually start to play LESS games as you focus more on creating them. So even when you do have time to play games, you think about creating them. 😅 And to be honest, since I started making games I started to care less about playing games. I started to observe them instead and got curious how things work. This helped me improve but also really admire games more. 😄 However, I am not saying most game developers are not playing games at all. Most game developers do! (and still play a lot when they can) But it's not something we do as a developer. Only occasionally for some actual market research. But that's very rarely. If you really want to play games all day, you should join a game studio as QA 'Quality Assurance'.
