Wow, time really does fly when you’re having fun… Seriously though, what a year it’s been. It’s officially a year since the opening week of Mother Marys and it’s safe to say so much has happened since. We’ve changed so much since those early days, with so much trial and error, but I think it’s safe to say we’re really taking shape and cementing our name in the city. Building a small grassroots business, creating it from essentially a shell, and finding your image is one of the hardest yet most rewarding experiences and times like this are what makes it so worth it, along with seeing all your lovely faces! Who we are and what we do has certainly gone through many phases, and i’m sure we’ve got many to go, but one thing that has never changed is what we stand for. At Mother Marys we pride ourselves on being a welcoming and safe space for everyone with something for everyone on our roster, and that will never change. A huge thank you to absolutely everyone who has stepped through these doors to support a gig, grab a free pizza, to play pool, for an aftershow party, to share your incredible talent on our stages, whatever the reason, you are what keeps us going and a lot of our identity has been and continues to be shaped by the people we meet and who show us their support. With so many grassroots venues struggling, it’s more important than ever and we simply could not do any of this without you! And a MASSIVE shoutout to our incredible staff who go above and beyond just pouring pints, almost everyone has been involved with the process of shaping us in some way or another, and we like to think we have some of the biggest personalities around who are always willing to get involved in silly reels, photoshoots and even just a good chit chat at the bar.
