Throwback to when my son was 3. No academy. No private coach. No structured training. Just a backyard. Lots of balls around. And time. I didn’t run drills. I didn’t correct every touch. I created a space where he could explore… while I played too. Over time he started copying. Then asking questions. Then challenging himself. That’s how skill actually develops. Not through pressure. Not through programs. Through time, consistency, and presence. Most parents outsource this part too early. They wait for training to build confidence. But confidence starts at home. Today he’s confident on the ball. But more importantly — he’s confident trying things. And that didn’t start at training.
