Thought Id share my experience. Most practicing NPs will passively obtain the CE requirement for ANCC renewal. The bulk of my CE’s come from using UpToDate. Rather than using a spreadsheet and manually updating every time I completed a CE course, I use an email chain ( if you want to update that annually just to see where you’re at for total hours that’s a viable option as well). I have tried a few different tracking systems and this seems to be the simplest and most time efficient method. It’s important to know what the renewal requirements are as newly certified NP so that you can create a designated tracking and filing system with appropriate supporting documents, and avoid having to look through 5 years of unorganized documents when its thme to renew.
