This is a literal race card is a document that some native American people are required to carry in Canada first Nations natives who are federally recognized received this card and in the United States natives would receive a CIB. This raises a lot of questions about colonialism because we are native people we didn’t use this way of documenting and categorizing our people. Native Americans were more community based rather than pedigree based. The government use the system to track us in order to base how much funding they should send us and by the way, the funding is not what you think it’s money that’s owed to us in a way. That’s kind of like rent. And I can expand on that in the future. But the less of us that there are the less that they have to give and do. And this is another form of erasure , and there are plenty of Native American and indigenous people that do not have the card or certificate, choose not to get it and are still valid and considered part of their native communities and sovereign territories. #nativetiktok #nativefamily #nativeamerican
