✨ Stop saying VERY wrong! 😵‍💫 Sometimes using “very” sounds super wrong. Some adjectives can almost work on a scale. You can be a bit cold.. or super cold… or even freezing (which is a lot more COLD than just being cold). With these, we can use the word very. But some adjectives are “absolutes”. Words like: impossible perfect dead …they can’t vary. Something is either impossible, or it’s not. It’s perfect, or it’s not. It’s dead, or it’s alive. You can’t be “a bit” dead. Or more dead. Or less dead. 😵‍💫 For these absolute adjectives, it’s better to: Choose a better word, like totally, absolutely, completely (which describe absolute adjectives) Or… just drop the “very”. And if you go back to the beginning go this caption, you’ll see I wrote “super wrong”. “Wrong” another word that is absolute. But here I used SUPER for dramatic effect :) We do that sometimes. I know… English is annoying. Sorry! #english #learnenglish #englishtips
