Same breed, but two completely different personalities when they go broody. 🥚🐔 It really goes to show that even hens of the same breed can be total opposites when it comes to hatching and raising chicks. Once those eggs are under them, they become incredibly protective in their own unique ways. I raised Buffy from a baby, while Barley joined my flock at 2 years old. Both are amazing mamas, just very different. Buffy stays devoted to her chicks until they’re nearly full grown, while Barley is ready to send her babies off on their own by around 6 weeks old.
