Pt.2 Avoidant Attachment ❤️🩹 Avoidant attachment often develops in a child’s relationship with their caregivers, when they learn that expressing emotions or asking for comfort doesn’t consistently lead to support or comfort. To cope, their brain adapts by becoming more independent and pushing feelings aside. This strategy helps them feel safe as a child, but later it can make emotional closeness and vulnerability feel uncomfortable. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they don’t need connection, they’ve just learned to rely mostly on themselves and freeze or withdraw if connection deepens. #avoidantattachment #relationshiptherapy
