𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗺𝘆 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. It isn't. Yesterday, after my client consultation, I began inspecting apartments that matched her stated needs. Several options were available. I physically inspected them. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗻𝗲𝘄 (𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻) 𝘁𝘄𝗼-𝗯𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁. Not because it was a bad apartment. Because 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁. During our consultation, she made it clear that spacious rooms and generous living areas were among her highest priorities. This apartment had relatively small bedrooms, a small sitting room, and compact bathrooms. Rather than waste her time with an inspection I already knew wouldn't satisfy her expectations, I removed it from consideration. That is the difference between being a traditional house agent and serving as a 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿. I don't measure success by the number of apartments I show. I measure success by the quality of the decision my client eventually makes. Sometimes, the best service I can provide is saying: "𝗡𝗼. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲." Every property I inspect is evaluated against my client's lifestyle, priorities, and long-term comfort—not simply whether it is vacant.
