Important note:   Inner child work can be very difficult to do emotionally, and this will vary in intensity depending on our past.   I do think this is something that should be fully explored in a therapeutic space. However, I think empowering people to understand and chip away at this work in accessible ways is also important.   A main component around this is self-compassion. There are technical aspects to it, but the first steps are treating the younger, vulnerable parts of ourselves with compassion, rather than judgement or harshness.   This isn’t a replacement for therapy, but something I hope fosters a bit of understanding and insight into what this all looks like. #innerchild #emotionregulation #nervoussystemregulation #psychologist #selfcaretiktok
