𝗡𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀: 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ⁣💙💚 ⁣ I think one of the most overlooked parts of living with NF1 is how lonely it can feel. ⁣ ⁣ Growing up, I never had anyone in my day-to-day life who also had NF1. Nobody who understood the reality of living with it, or the emotions that come with it. ⁣ ⁣ You can explain it to people, but it’s different when someone just knows without needing an explanation. ⁣ ⁣ For most of my life, the closest thing I had to meeting others with NF1 was sitting in hospital waiting rooms. ⁣ ⁣ Now, thanks to social media, I’ve connected with people from all over the world who also live with NF1. Our stories are all different, but there’s something powerful about finally feeling understood. ⁣ ⁣ Some of those connections have turned into genuine friendships that mean so much more than the condition that brought us together. ⁣ ⁣ Awareness is important…but so is community.
