𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐚 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐚 🇨🇳✨ Did my first ever photoshoot in Lijiang, China and I’m not over it 😳 I wore Zang Zu (Tibetan) traditional clothing with a modern twist… and tell me WHY after the Douyin-style makeup I looked like a whole different person 🫨 Such a fun (and slightly chaotic) experience, especially as someone who doesn’t speak Mandarin at all 😅 If you’re planning to try a photoshoot in China as a non-Chinese speaker, here are some tips: 1️⃣ 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧 𝐗𝐇𝐒 (𝐗𝐢𝐚𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐡𝐮) Use a translation app to find studios + check prices beforehand. BUT honestly… walking in like I did might be cheaper 👀 2️⃣ 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨 Have makeup + outfit references ready! If not, you can scroll through their portfolios and choose on the spot 3️⃣ 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Especially if you’re picky about shade… but just know they will still edit your skin tone in post 😂 4️⃣ 𝐅𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐞𝐬 The photographers will guide you on how to pose, so don’t stress too much about the language barrier! Just follow along and trust the process :) Honestly such a unique travel experience, I’d 100% do it again 🫶 10/10 recommend adding this to your Yunnan, China itinerary!
