Dandy Darling - Blue Lips Full Performance with captions (Part 2)💙 i've been waiting many years to perform this song in drag. since i started t in january, it felt like the right time 💙 the song, blue lips, is by a band called her's. they are one of my favourite bands and i love how their music is so heartfelt and full of love, longing and silliness too. it always felt like a version of masculinity that resonated with me 💙 heartbreakingly, stephen and audun, the two band members passed away very young in a car accident in 2019. so in a way, this act is a tribute to their music and all the joy and comfort it has brought me and many others over the years 🕊 when i was younger i was always getting my heart broken! men either saw/loved me as a woman or wanted to date a cis gay guy, so i felt very lonely. plus, i've had a lot of bad experiences (if you get me) which made it very hard for me to get close to anyone romantically. i only truly came to terms with my sexuality when i was 24 and accepted that i was bisexual/pansexual 💙 i think finally getting to be on t now has made me let go of those jealous feelings that i couldn't have what others felt in love or truly be loved as myself in my head, the story of the act is about a man who is turned into a fish creature. whilst his love is still on the land and has moved on and met someone else, he's heartbroken and jealous. so this performance is a way of saying goodbye to those feelings. now i feel able to be loved and cared for in a way that feels true and real 💙 i hope you enjoy watching my performance and that it may resonate with you in some way too 💙 - Dandy x #drag #dragking #queerartist #transartist #lgbtqia
