#BiennaleArte2026 China Pavilion | 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥, 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐧 – 𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝑆𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝐻𝑖𝑙𝑙, 𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑛 𝑅𝑎𝑖𝑛 is a twenty-panel installation integrating acrylic painting, black-and-white photography, and video. The acrylic sections draw from the Northern Song masterpiece 𝐸𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝐺𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑖𝑛 𝑊𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛 𝐺𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑒𝑛. The photography focuses on bamboo groves and plantain leaves, while the video captures falling rain and plantain leaves gently swaying. A graduate of the #ChinaAcademyofArt, Yang Fudong continues his "painting-film" language, inviting viewers to walk through the work and experience cinematic montage through spatial movement.
