𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 – 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. As a newbie, you’re not supposed to know everything. Do not beat yourself up for making unintentional mistakes; you’re meant to learn. Remind yourself that you are still a work in progress and that these mistakes are intended to help you grow. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. No one knows it all on their first time. The shift from being a student to a full-time employee will feel overwhelming and being surrounded with established people who know what they’re doing will make you feel small and question your competence. But don’t confuse unfamiliarity with inability. It’s not that you can’t do it – it’s just that you are still learning. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝗻𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. When I was still a student, weekends were basically the same as weekdays. But do that in the workplace and you’re basically asking to burn out. Giving yourself a break is a must because a rested mind and body will make you work so much more productively and efficiently. 𝗕𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵. In the workplace, you’ll meet a lot. It’s important to be with people who share the same values as you, who you can trust, and who will help bring out the best in you. Be wise with who you spend your energy with. And lastly, 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆. There will be days when you’ll feel demotivated and start questioning if you’re doing the right thing. On those days, it’s important that you have more control over yourself than the thoughts and lies in your head.
