Acne scars are often treated like a surface-level texture issue, but the biology runs much deeper. Different scar types reflect completely different structural problems—dermal volume loss, fibrotic tethering, abnormal collagen deposition, persistent inflammation, or post-inflammatory pigment signaling. That’s why a single treatment rarely works across all scar patterns. The most effective scar revision strategies are mechanism-specific. Subcision addresses tethering, lasers and RF remodel collagen, pigment pathways require anti-inflammatory and melanocyte-focused treatment, and deeper structural defects may need physical correction or biostimulatory support. Acne scars are not one condition—they’re multiple wound-healing outcomes layered together. #AcneScars #DermatologyEducation #SkinTexture #AestheticMedicine #SkincareScience
