How many times does Hollywood have to show us the same ending before we admit there’s a pattern? A solar flash. A wall of light. Communications fail. Cities empty. The survivors inherit a world that no longer answers. The imagery stretches from the nearly forgotten Where Have All the People Gone? in 1974 to Solar Crisis, Knowing, Finch and 2025’s Afterburn. In Knowing, the warning is practically spoken aloud: “The numbers are a warning… They’re a warning to everyone.” Does repetition prove foreknowledge?
