🎙️ THE WIDOW DIARIES EPISODE ONE It only felt right that my first two guests were Natalie and Anton, because I genuinely don’t think I would have had the courage to start this podcast or my social media without their support. I met them after Alan died through A Place Called Here, the suicide bereavement support group they created in Glasgow. At a time when I felt completely lost and was trying to navigate a type of grief I never knew existed, I found a room full of people who just got it. And that space was so needed. There was nothing else like it in Glasgow at the time. A Place Called Here was born from Natalie and Anton’s own devastating experience of suicide loss after Natalie lost her dad, Mick. In our first episode, Natalie shares the person her dad was beyond the way he died, the funny stories, their relationship, their memories of him and the impact his death had on their family. We also talk about how Natalie and Anton took something so painful and turned it into something that now supports so many other people. They created the kind of place nobody ever wants to need, but when you do, you are so grateful it exists. So there really couldn’t have been anyone else I wanted sitting opposite me for Episode One. 🤍 The Widow Diaries Podcast. Real conversations about grief, resilience and finding your way forward. 🎙️ *** The Widow Diaries is currently completely self-funded, because creating these conversations and giving people a space to share their stories is something I really believe in. 🤍 If you’re a business or organisation interested in sponsoring an episode in exchange for advertising across the podcast and my social platforms, I’d love to hear from you.
