More Than 1,000 Attend Ruby Sahota’s Brampton North—Caledon Community BBQ More than 1,000 residents came together for the Brampton North—Caledon Federal Liberal Association’s Community BBQ with MP Ruby Sahota, bringing families, volunteers and community leaders together at the Brampton Soccer Centre. Sahota spent the afternoon speaking with residents about issues including affordability, jobs, public safety, auto theft, extortion and Canada’s economic future. “The work our government is doing did not start in Ottawa. It started with conversations exactly like the ones I had here today,” Sahota said, highlighting federal measures aimed at tackling violent crime and strengthening public safety. Sahota also emphasized the government’s efforts to diversify Canada’s international trade, attract investment and strengthen the domestic economy, saying Canada must pursue agreements that protect workers and respect Canadian sovereignty. “My job is to keep showing up here, keep listening and keep bringing what I hear back to Ottawa,” she said.
