The challenge gave contestants an opportunity to share their stories, perspectives, and ideas while showcasing their confidence and communication skills. Simpson’s victory secured her a spot among the Top 40 finalists. Asked, "How can a new generation embrace progress without losing what makes its culture unique?" Simpson highlighted the importance of passing cultural traditions from one generation to the next. She cited the Filipino values of 'Kapwa' or interconnectedness and 'Bayanihan,' sharing how these traditions shaped her identity growing up in the Philippines. “The best way to preserve our cultural heritage is to simply pass it down to the next generation,” Simpson said, pointing to everyday practices such as speaking native languages at home, sharing stories with children and grandchildren, and preparing family recipes. She added that while social media and other modern platforms can help promote culture, it is the simple traditions practiced at home that can keep cultural roots strong. “In a fast-paced modernized digital world, things like Kapwa or the Bayanihan spirit will not be lost. In fact, they will be the things that ground us fully, because that is what roots are for,” Simpson said.
