Built in 1972 by Hugh S Davis as an anniversary gift to his wife who loved whale collectibles. Started out as a private family swimming hole that went public and was very popular. Then was eventually closed in 1988 due to the owners health. It’s a popular roadside attraction off Route 66 with a new visitor center and play area built in spring of 2026.
