Save to fix your lower abs ✨ After 20 years of teaching Pilates, the cork block is still one of my favourite props for strengthening the deep core and creating better control through the pelvis. Placing the block underneath the pelvis creates a little more space from the floor and helps guide you into a supported, neutral position. From here, it becomes easier to connect with the transverse abdominis, or TA. This deep core muscle wraps horizontally around the stomach like an internal corset, helping support the spine, draw the stomach inward and tighten the waist from the inside out. When the block sits between the legs, the inner thighs also work to squeeze and stabilise it, creating an even stronger connection through the pelvis and deep core. Try this: ✨ Balance Leg Sweeps x12 each side ✨ Press Leg Lowers x12 each side ✨ Arm and Leg Extensions x12 ✨ Double Leg Squeezes x12 🤍 Complete 4 rounds No cork block? Place two firmly rolled towels underneath the pelvis, or use a small cushion between the legs. Keep the pelvis steady, softly connect the ribs and make every movement slow and controlled so the deep core stays switched on. Save this for your next lower-ab workout and follow for Pilates that actually works. 🤍 #lowerabworkout #deepcoreconnection #pilatescore #flatstomachworkout #pilatesblock
