I met my husband at 14, he died in my arms at 37. We were high school sweet hearts and reconnected in our 30s. In 2020 he was struck by a car on his bicycle and suffered a TBI which triggered the progression of a rare genetic disease, ALD and Addison disease. His doctors said weeks to months. I told him I wanted to get married and he said “I thought that since we were 14”. We spent four years on hospice. It was a slow progression and he took his last breaths three days after our four year wedding anniversary. In mourning I finished our book, Bones and the Bereaved, a creative portal for those on the end of life journey. Now available worldwide wide. #grief #widow #endoflife #deathdoula
