The Bhagavad Gītā is not merely a philosophical work or a religious text; it is the direct dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukṣetra. Every instruction spoken by Lord Krishna was intended to remove Arjuna's ignorance and establish him in eternal truth. If the Gītā contains the Lord's own words, then every commentary, translation and philosophical explanation must remain faithful to those words and to the broader body of Vedic scripture. **"Learn the truth by approaching a genuine spiritual teacher. Inquire submissively and render service; the wise who have seen the truth will instruct you in knowledge." (Bhagavad Gītā 4.34)** A genuine spiritual teacher does not replace scripture with personal philosophy but faithfully reveals what the Lord Himself has spoken. My appeal is simple: do not accept any teaching because it is popular, ancient or widely followed. Examine it in the light of śāstra. 📜 Throughout this discourse I invite every student of Sanātana Dharma to distinguish between Lord Krishna's original teachings and later theological interpretations. I compare **Śrī Rāmānujācārya's Bhagavad Gītā Bhāṣya**, one of the earliest and most authoritative commentaries of the Śrī Sampradāya, with **A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda's Bhagavad-gītā As It Is**. I explain why, in my understanding, the Gītā Bhāṣya faithfully preserves the intent of Lord Krishna without introducing conclusions that extend beyond the text itself. I further examine how the worldwide popularity of *Bhagavad-gītā As It Is* has influenced the theological understanding of millions of Hindus and spiritual seekers. My purpose is not to ask anyone to reject a teacher out of emotion or prejudice, but to encourage every devotee to compare every interpretation against the original Sanskrit, the traditional sampradāyas, and the complete body of Vedic literature. Truth has nothing to fear from honest examination, and genuine faith becomes stronger when tested against scripture rather than unquestioned tradition. 🕉️ One of the most significant scriptural discussions concerns the identity of the Supreme Lord Himself. **Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, Canto 10, Chapter 89, Verses 54–58** records Arjuna beholding Mahā-Viṣṇu reclining upon Ananta Śeṣa. The text describes Mahā-Viṣṇu as the **Supreme Personality of Godhead**, narrates how **Lord Krishna and Arjuna offer obeisances before Him**, and records Mahā-Viṣṇu declaring that Krishna and Arjuna are **His own expansions**. These verses raise a profound theological question. If the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam presents Mahā-Viṣṇu in this manner, how should these passages be reconciled with theological presentations that identify Lord Krishna as the original Supreme Personality of Godhead from whom Mahā-Viṣṇu expands? I do not ask this question to provoke controversy but to encourage sincere scriptural investigation. Such passages cannot simply be ignored because they concern the central theological doctrine upon which every subsequent interpretation of the Gītā rests. If two presentations appear to reach different conclusions, the responsibility of the commentator is to demonstrate their harmony through scriptural evidence rather than expecting the reader to overlook the apparent tension. 🌍 My mission is not to create division but to restore the habit of scriptural inquiry that has always defined authentic Sanātana Dharma. I encourage every seeker to open the Bhagavad Gītā, the **Śrīmad Bhāgavatam**, **Śrī Rāmānujācārya's Gītā Bhāṣya**, and the wider Vedic canon with sincerity, humility and an open mind. **"Controlled by various desires, and deprived of discrimination, people take refuge in other deities,
