𝐁𝐡𝐮𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐥𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐤𝐡 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐛𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐚 𝐀𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢 A special prayer ceremony was held at Simtokha Dzong in Thimphu in memory of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Amir of the State of Qatar, in recognition of his remarkable legacy and his enduring contributions to the development of sport and the Olympic Movement. His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, graced the ceremony and offered prayers by lighting butter lamps at Simtokha Dzong in honour of the late His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The prayer ceremony was attended by leaders of the National Sports Federations, and staff of the Bhutan Olympic Committee who gathered to pay their respects and offer prayers in remembrance of His Highness. On behalf of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, its Executive Committee, National Sports Federations, athletes, coaches, officials, and the entire BOC family, we extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar and Member of the International Olympic Committee; H.E. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Olympic Council of Asia; the esteemed Al Thani family; the people of the State of Qatar; and all those whose lives were touched by His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. The Bhutan Olympic Committee stands in solidarity with the people of the State of Qatar during this time of profound sorrow. We pray that the noble soul of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani rests in eternal peace, and that His Highness's family, the leadership of the State of Qatar, and its people find strength, comfort, and solace during this time of great loss.
