We can’t have this documentary without addressing sexism in psychology. Late diagnosed ADHD and autistic women, the ones who slipped through every screening because we were quiet, high achieving, or just really good at masking. Masking is the part I think gets misunderstood the most. It is years of unconscious adaptation to environments that were not built for our brain, and by the time most late diagnosed women realize they've been doing it, it has already cost them their energy, their identity, and often their health.
