𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐆𝐨 𝐎𝐟𝐟, 𝐖𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤 There is something deeply heartbreaking about watching history repeat itself. We have seen leaders rise to power with confidence, surrounded by applause and blinded by the illusion that authority will last forever. Yet time has humbled every throne, and many who once walked with pride now carry the weight of the very choices they made. The arrogance that seemed like strength became the burden they never expected to bear. And still, the cycle continues. It is as though the echoes of yesterday have fallen on deaf ears. Power changes hands, but the lessons remain ignored. This is why I have chosen to share this message. Many of us smile while carrying storms within. We laugh while grief quietly settles in our hearts. We appear composed, yet our souls wrestle with disappointments too heavy for words. The world sees our faces, but it does not always see our scars. Then comes the moment when the lights go off. In that darkness, no title shines. No wealth glitters. No office commands respect. No crown distinguishes one from another. When the lights go off, we all turn 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤. In that moment, masks lose their purpose, pride loses its voice, and every hidden wound speaks louder than every public smile. We are stripped of the illusions that separated us and reminded that we all share the same human destiny. So let those who hold power today remember this truth: leadership is a trust, not a possession. Authority is borrowed, not owned. Fame fades, influence passes, and every seat of power is eventually left empty. The light will not shine forever. When it goes out, all that will remain is the legacy we leave behind, the justice we upheld, the mercy we showed, and the humanity we never abandoned. For when the lights go off, we will all turn 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐤.
