Down the Rabbit Hole Breakfast Ideas with @Chilli Chan’s 🌶 Recipe 3: Easy Shakshuka with Crispy Chili Oil & Hot Honey 🍳🌶️🍅 Whether you’re camping, at a festival or just making a lazy weekend breakfast at home, this easy shakshuka is packed with flavour and requires minimal ingredients. Serves 2 What you need: * 1 red bell pepper, diced * 1 small white onion, thinly sliced * 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced * 5 juicy tomatoes, chopped (or about 10 cherry tomatoes) * A handful of chard or spinach (optional) * 2 eggs * A handful of fresh herbs (I used dill, coriander and parsley) * White cheese or feta, crumbled (optional) * 1 tsp Chili Chan’s Crispy Chili Oil * 1 tsp Chili Chan’s Hot Honey * ½ tsp paprika powder * ½ tsp cumin powder * A pinch of fennel seeds * Sea salt and black pepper * Olive oil * Naan bread or crusty bread, to serve Camping tip: Mix the paprika, cumin, fennel, salt and pepper in a small container beforehand and label it “Shakshuka spice mix”. Easy to carry and saves space. Method: Heat a generous splash of olive oil in a pan. Add the onion, garlic and bell pepper and cook until softened. Add the paprika, cumin, fennel, salt and pepper. Stir through, then add the Chili Chan’s Hot Honey. Add the tomatoes and cook until they become soft, juicy and saucy. If using chard or spinach, add it now. Cover with a lid if you have one. Once the sauce is thick and delicious, make two small wells and crack in the eggs. Cover with a lid, plate or foil and cook the eggs to your liking. I prefer mine medium. Finish with fresh herbs, crumbled cheese and a generous drizzle of Chili Chan’s Crispy Chili Oil. Serve with warm naan or fresh bread and enjoy your Down the Rabbit Hole Breakfast number three. #downtherabbithole #shakshuka #festivalfood #dutchfoodblogger #srilankan_tik_tok🇱🇰
