A dear friend of mine shared a post on Facebook, and I'd never heard of this story before, so I looked it up. I wish I hadn't. I genuinely cannot understand people who can torture an innocent animal. And I don't understand the people who stand there and let it happen either. According to reports from the case, a kitten had its paws cut off, was strung up, and then set on fire. How? How does someone's mind even go there? People capable of that kind of cruelty honestly need to be studied. If you can deliberately torture a defenseless animal, there's no telling what else you're capable of. And if you stood there and watched it happen without trying to stop it, I don't have much sympathy for you either. Looking the other way while someone commits an act that evil doesn't make you innocent. The man connected to this case is Doug Hamlin, who is now the CEO of the NRA. I don't care what your politics are... animal cruelty should never be excused, ignored, or forgotten because someone later became influential. Animals trust us completely.
