Stewart Weldon is a convicted serial killer from Springfield whose crimes shocked western Massachusetts in 2018. His case came to light after a routine traffic stop led police to uncover a horrifying pattern of kidnapping, rape, torture, and murder. On May 27, 2018, Springfield police attempted to stop Weldon for a broken taillight. After a brief chase, officers discovered a terrified woman in his vehicle. She told police that Weldon had held her captive for over a month, repeatedly sexually assaulting and beating her. The woman suffered severe injuries, including a fractured jaw and stab wounds. Her rescue ultimately exposed Weldon's crimes. Following Weldon's arrest, investigators searched the home where he was living on Page Boulevard in Springfield. There they discovered the decomposing bodies of three women: Ernestine Ryans, 47; America Lyden, 34; and Kayla Escalante, 27. Two of the women had previously been reported missing, while Escalante had not yet been officially reported missing. Prosecutors later revealed that Weldon's crimes extended beyond the murders. He was charged with offenses involving multiple victims, including kidnapping, rape, assault, and strangulation. Investigators also linked him to a series of sexual assaults that occurred in Springfield between 2017 and 2018. In September 2021, Weldon pleaded guilty to 39 charges, including the murders of the three women. He accepted responsibility just weeks before his trial was set to begin, bringing an end to one of the most disturbing criminal cases in Springfield's #springfieldmassachusetts #serialkillers #fypシ゚viral #guilty
