Pertandingan yang menghimpunkan sebanyak 126 pasukan dari dalam dan luar negara itu menyaksikan pelbagai kategori perlumbaan diadakan sejak awal pagi dalam suasana penuh semangat kesukanan. Walaupun keadaan cuaca kadangkala hujan dan berangin, acara tetap berjalan lancar dengan kerjasama penganjur, peserta serta agensi keselamatan yang bertugas di lokasi. Selain aksi perlumbaan dragon boat, pengunjung turut disajikan dengan pelbagai aktiviti sampingan termasuk jualan makanan, persembahan kebudayaan dan aktiviti rekreasi keluarga yang menambahkan kemeriahan suasana di sekitar Teluk Likas. Sementara itu, Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) turut mengadakan Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan (AGM) di Putera Ballroom, Bukit Padang sekitar jam 12 tengah hari selepas tamat sebahagian acara perlumbaan sebelah pagi. AGM tersebut dihadiri oleh barisan kepimpinan persatuan, wakil-wakil ahli serta jemputan khas bagi membincangkan perkembangan semasa organisasi dan perancangan aktiviti akan datang. Penganjuran tahun ini terus memperkukuhkan kedudukan Sabah sebagai antara destinasi utama acara sukan air dan pelancongan di rantau ini, sekali gus memberi impak positif kepada sektor pelancongan dan ekonomi tempatan. Acara akan diteruskan esok dengan beberapa kategori akhir dijadual berlangsung bagi merebut hadiah keseluruhan bernilai RM95,000. A total of 126 teams from both local and international regions took part in the competition, with various race categories held from early morning in an atmosphere filled with sportsmanship and excitement. Despite occasional rain and windy conditions, the event proceeded smoothly with the cooperation of organisers, participants and safety agencies stationed at the venue. Apart from the dragon boat races, visitors also enjoyed a variety of side activities including food bazaars, cultural performances and family-friendly recreational activities, further enhancing the festive atmosphere around Likas Bay. Meanwhile, the Federation of Chinese Associations Sabah (FCAS) also held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Putera Ballroom, Bukit Padang at approximately 12 noon following the morning race sessions. The AGM was attended by association leaders, member representatives and invited guests to discuss the organisation’s latest developments and future plans. This year’s event continues to strengthen Sabah’s position as one of the region’s key destinations for water sports and tourism events, while contributing positively to the local tourism and economy sectors.
