๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ Headquarters Naval Forces Central (HNFC), Naval Base Rafael Ramos (NBRR), Lapu-Lapu City โ Naval Forces Central (NFC) formally welcomed the arrival of BRP TARLAC (LD601) during an Arrival Ceremony held at Captain Veloso Pier (CVP), marking the first time a Category 4 Philippine Navy ship specifically a Tarlac-Class Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV) has docked at CVP located at Naval Base Rafael Ramos (NBRR) on May 8, 2026. Following the shipโs arrival, the Command conducted an Arrival Ceremony led by COMMO JOSELITO E DE GUZMAN PN, Commander, Naval Forces Central (CNFC) which was attended by the Command Team, HNFC Staff Officers, Commanders and Commanding Officers of OPCON/TACON shore units and surface assets, and selected Enlisted Personnel. The activity underscored the Commandโs sustained support to national security operations, inter-agency coordination efforts, and maritime security initiatives in preparation for support to post-ASEAN Summit 2026 activities particularly the transport and ferry mission for Presidential Security Command personnel, assorted cargoes and operational equipment bound for Manila upon completion of the ASEAN Summit 2026. Relatedly, the docking of BRP TARLAC (LD601) at CVP signifies not only the growing operational reach of the Philippine Navy (PN) but also the strategic importance of Cebu as a central hub for logistics, maritime coordination, and naval operations in the Visayas region. The successful docking of LD601 also marks a historic moment not only for the Philippine Navy but also for Cebuโs maritime community. This demonstrates the growing capability to operate and sustain larger naval assets in support of national defense and humanitarian missions, while reinforcing its readiness to address emerging challenges across the archipelago. During the activity, NFC facilitated the ceremonial reception and coordinated the necessary support requirements for the arriving ship as part of its continued commitment in sustaining maritime operational readiness in the Visayas. The event also highlighted the strong coordination among Philippine Navy (PN) units in ensuring seamless mission support for all naval assets. Relatedly, FFG7 is one of the Philippine Navyโs guided missile frigates, and is being prepared for its succeeding deployment and maritime security patrol operations.
