House Assistant Majority Leader and Lanao del Sur Representative Zia Alonto Adiong said the ruling Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) is expected to support the committee report once it reaches the plenary. Adiong, who also serves as spokesperson of Lakas-CMD, said the party—composed of around 70 House members—remains largely unified behind its members involved in the impeachment process. “Well, the party, Lakas, is solidly behind the complaint. The chair of the Committee on Justice is a Lakas member, and the respondent of one of the complaints is also a Lakas member, so definitely, as a party, we go behind the party members that have already invested in this process,” Adiong said. The House Committee on Justice is chaired by Batangas Representative Gerville Luistro.
