𝗞𝗢𝗧𝗔 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗟𝗨, 𝗦𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗛 — 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝘂𝗸 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟮𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁. Organised by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), the open-day celebration transformed the naval base into a vibrant hub of activity, showcasing Malaysia’s maritime defence capabilities while strengthening ties with the local community. Visitors were treated to a wide range of attractions and interactive exhibitions. Among the highlights were helicopter displays, where guests could get an up-close look at naval aviation assets, and the rare opportunity to explore a submarine, believed to be one of the RMN’s premier underwater vessels. These exhibits drew long queues as families, students, and enthusiasts took the chance to experience military technology firsthand. In addition to the major assets on display, the event featured static ship exhibitions, tactical demonstrations, and educational booths, offering insights into naval operations, career opportunities, and maritime security. Food stalls, family-friendly activities, and live performances further added to the festive atmosphere. Many attendees described the event as both educational and inspiring, particularly for younger visitors who gained a deeper appreciation for the role of the navy in safeguarding national waters. The strong turnout reflects growing public interest in Malaysia’s armed forces and highlights the success of such outreach programmes in bringing the community closer to the nation’s defenders. The Armada Day celebration at Teluk Sepanggar once again proved to be a major highlight in Sabah’s event calendar, leaving visitors with memorable experiences and a renewed sense of national pride.
