But instead of waiting until I’m finished to talk about the kind of gift I know this book will be, I want to shout out my brother Joshua for introducing me to the work of Fred Moten—what feels like so many years ago—and for being such a conjure-man of sorts, the way he helped me conjure a new way of thinking about the art I love and the work.
