I was riding along Chapman’s Peak… one of the most breathtaking roads in the world. And then — chaos. In a split second, an oncoming bike hit us. I looked down and watched my leg snap on impact… before I was flung off the motorcycle. I still hear the sound. I still see it. Like a reel I can’t switch off. My hands were shaking as I grabbed my phone. “Dad… I’ve just lost my leg.” That moment — that call — marked the end of life as I knew it. Two and a half months in hospital followed. Pain. Panic. A grief I never expected — for a version of myself that I didn’t get to say goodbye to. But somehow… I got up. I fought. I learned to walk again. And this… is what that fight looks like.
