HOW DID WE CATCH THIS?! ⬇️ There's no feeling quite like hunting some of the most powerful fish in the world with your mates in some of the most dangerous currents on earth 🐟🧜🏻‍♂️ These dogtooth tuna were caught by spearfishing off a coastal area in Indonesia over a 2 day period. We worked as a team, diving repeatedly to depths of 30 metres (100 feet) to locate the schools of fish. @jarrodbriffa put a great shot onto the biggest tuna. It was so strong it pulled the float line and 25 litre float down to about 50 metres (150 feet) deep and disappeared completely out of sight. Thankfully the system held and after about 3 minutes to float reappeared at the surface. 💪🏻😮 We continued to fight the fish, pulling it slowly towards the surface until @jarrodbriffa could swim down with another gun and secure a second shot. In any western country these fish, weighing in at 30kg (66lbs) and 12kg (26lbs) would have a combined value of over $1000. The process of hunting and gathering is something that has been part of human existence for millions of years. Maintaining this as part of our lives means we are fishing in the most sustainable way possible. Every part of the fish is used and it not only feeds dozens of people, but it brings out community closer together. 🙌🏻💙 Stay safe and never dive alone! #spearfishing #spearfish #fishing #spearing #freediving #huntergatherer #spearfisherman #caveman #holdyourbreath #diving #spearfishing_international #dogtooth #tuna #dogtoothtuna #speargun #hunter #eatmeat #bigfish
