10 second observation timelapse. Focus = texture, hatching This card is adapted from 'Framed Drawing Techniques' by Marcos Mateu-Mestre. Here is some work from hatching rounded forms that I worked on today. I still can't handle rounded forms that well. I find that I tend to maybe go a little crazy with the amount of lines and it gets a bit dense as I try to suggest the roundness. And then other times it feels like there is not enough. In general though I think the stronger hatchers I have seen like Moebius allow a lot of white space to show through. Artists like Paul Heaston often use hatching not even really to go the values down, but more to build a sense of direction and separation of planes in perspective. That's more on flat planes though. This took 30 minutes, using ballpoint pen. #10000hrs #art #drawing #learning #shorts
