How quickly should you grow? If you’re chasing scale weight and it’s jumping very rapidly, how much of that is actual muscle tissue? I’ll give you an example.. If you were to put on 10lbs (4.5kgs) of lean muscle tissue in 1 year , that’s going to be about 90grams of lean muscle per week on average. That doesn’t sound like much, but you pack on 10lbs of lean stage weight in a year, that’s very significant!! If you’re gaining a kilo or more per week, how much of that is actual muscle tissue? Yes we expect more food volume, increased glycogen stores, and yes a little bit of body fat.. my point is be careful, the more bodyfat you gain in the off-season the more insulin resistant you’ll be, more potential aromatization, AND the harder it will be to get in shape again!!!
