Walnut-Cinnamon Kalács🌼 Ingredients for the dough: 🌼 warm milk - 2 dl 🌼 sugar - 40 g 🌼 yeast - 25 g 🌼 flour - 300 g 🌼 salt - 1 pinch 🌼 melted butter - 1 tablespoon 🌼 egg yolk - 1 🌼 lemon zest - zest of 1 lemon Ingredients for the filling: 🌼 melted butter - 30 g 🌼 sugar - 100 g 🌼 ground walnut - 250 g 🌼 cinnamon - 2 tablespoons 🌼 egg - for spreading How to make: 🌼 Pour the warm milk into a bowl and add the sugar and yeast. 🌼 Let is rest for 10 minutes. 🌼 Mix the flour, salt, butter, egg yolk and lemon zest in a big bowl and add the rested milk mixture. 🌼 Knead the dough until it separates from the wall of the bowl. (Add more flour if needed.) 🌼 Let it rest for 1 hours. 🌼 Make the filling. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. 🌼 Separate the rested dough into 3 equal pieces on a floured surface. 🌼 Roll out all three pieces of dough one by one into a rectangle of roughly equal size. 🌼 Spread the filling on each one and roll them up tightly on the longitudinal side. 🌼 When all three rolls are ready, then braid them loosely. The fold lines of the rolls should be at the bottom, so they don’t open during baking. 🌼 Place the kalács onto a baking paper. 🌼 Spread it with the egg. 🌼 Bake it for 25 minutes at 180 degrees.
