Smoked and braised carnitas. Recipe and process below with amounts for 2-8lb. Pork butts. Rub: -2 tbs brown sugar -2 tbs chili powder -1 tbs salt -1 tbs pepper -1 tbs cumin -1 tbs garlic powder -1 tbs paprika -1 tbs Mexican oregano (regular will work) -1 tbs onion powder -2 tsp cayenne -2 tsp allspice -2 tsp cinnamon Braising Liquid: -1lb lard -Juice of 3 oranges -Juice of 6 limes -Bay leaves -Garlic -Mexican Coca Cola Process; -Debone and cut pork butts into hand sized chunks -Rub with hot sauce of choice and season with rub -Smoke at 225 for ~3-4 hours -Add to pan with braising liquid ingredients and cover with foil -Add to 275-300 degree oven or smoker for another 3 hours -Remove once tender and shred -Optional, for crispy carnitas fry in a skillet or place under broiler #carnitas #carnitasdepuerco #pork #taco #tacos #recipe #tiptok #fyp #solsmoke
