Five years. It’s been five years since we got the phone call that changed everything for our little family, the call that my husband and I will never forget. The day we learned that his father, my father-in-law, Rhoades’ Gramps, had passed away. It was sudden, heartbreaking, and a day we never saw coming. One we’ll never forget. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss you or wish you were still here. But today, the hurt feels a little deeper. The years may pass, but it never really gets easier, especially as we watch your grandsons grow and hitting milestones you should be here to see. But we know you're watching from above, proud of them, proud of us. You never got to meet our sweet Bailey, but we know you would’ve loved him deeply. And Rhoades still talks about “Gramps”, I know you visit him in ways we can’t always see. I was so blessed to have you as a father-in-law, truly a second dad who loved me like his own. And for that, I’ll always be grateful. We carry your memory in our hearts every day. Your memory lives on in the stories we tell, the lessons you taught, and the love you left behind. Until we meet again, we’ll keep making you proud. 🪽💙
