𝗣𝗦𝗔: 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀 “𝗽𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀” 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻. 👀 𝗗𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿… (𝗽𝘂𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 🤭) Peptides are exactly that—messengers. They’re tiny protein fragments that tell your skin cells what to do. But here’s the part social media often leaves out… 👉🏾 Not all peptides do the same thing. ✨ Signal peptides Tell your skin to make more collagen and elastin, helping improve firmness and soften fine lines. ✨ Carrier peptides Deliver minerals like copper to support healing, calm inflammation, and improve the appearance of discoloration. ✨ Neurotransmitter-inhibiting peptides Help reduce muscle signaling, so some can temporarily soften expression lines (no, they’re not Botox in a bottle 💉). ✨ Enzyme-inhibiting peptides Help protect collagen while providing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits. 🚨 Myth: “Peptides are a miracle ingredient.” ✅ Reality: They’re only as good as the formula they’re in. A peptide has to be stable, able to penetrate the skin, and be present in an effective formulation to actually do its job. Otherwise…it’s just another ingredient on an expensive label. My advice? Don’t buy products because they have peptides. Buy them because they’re well formulated. Science > marketing. Every. Single. Time. 👏🏾 👇🏾 What’s the biggest skincare claim you’ve heard that you want fact-checked next? #peptideskincare #peptide #skincaretips #dermatologist #factcheck
