This book. WOW. How do I even talk about this book? It is an emotional heavy hitter for starters. The MMC is a recovering addict trying to pick up the pieces of his life after hitting rock bottom. The FMC is still bruised from their breakup 12 years ago. There are themes of grief, addiction, and abuse (not between the MCs). The prose in this book? One of the best I’ve read in a LONG time. Our MCs both grew up in the music industry and grew up to work in it as well — and music is their love language. A lot of this book discusses playlists for every mood, and the way they talk about music is poetic. This book felt like a love letter to music in the best way.
