Glen sanderson, a 31yr old man from Cumbria went missing at curl curl beach in Sydney, NSW, on 17 October, 2015, Police and SES spent 2 days searching for Mr sanderson around curl curl headland and surrounding area. Mr Sanderson spent the day fishing and swimming in and around south curl curl beach. Until 7pm, he decided to go into the water for a "solo" swim. Until a couple minutes passed, and Glen couldn't be seen or heard from the beach, leaving his friend with no choice but to raise the alarm to authorities so they could take immediate action. Police and SES conducted an Ariel/water/foot search on the following day (Sunday 18th, October, 2015). South curl curl is known for having a very strong Rip. Surf life-saving spokeswoman "Donna Wishahrt" described south curl curl as one of the more hazardous in Sydney and said the Rip has caught many people off guard. She also said "if they don't know the beach, and the conditions because, it looks fairly benign, you get in the water and it can take you into deep water fairly quickly" she said. "it is a fairly hazardous beach. There has been a number of rescues conducted there. And there has been several drownings, there's often rock fishing accidents too, "she said. Northern beaches LAC inspector "sue preston" stated in an interview that "it may well be that he has gotten out of the water at some point. Glens father in law made a statement saying “It’s devastating news,” he added. “On Saturday, I was happy-go-lucky, not a care in the world. Then you get hit by this. I know he is quite a durable character. He’s a fit lad and a strong boy. He’s always looked after himself.”In a statement police said: “After searching throughout the morning with nil find, the search has now been called off. However, police will continue to make inquiries into the man’s disappearance.” If you have any information on the whereabouts of Glen Sanderson or have seen him please contact crime stoppers on 1800 333 000 #ukmissingperson #missingperson #missingpersonsaustralia #unsolved #mystery #dissapearances #glensanderson #missingpeople #share #drowning #curlcurlbeach
