Being an author can be an isolating experience at times, and the community that comes from in-person events have become my favorite parts of being an epic fantasy author. Whether it's Brandon Sanderson's Dragonsteel Nexus, comic cons like C2E2 or Fan Expo, or local book fairs, engaging with a community of readers is such an exciting experience. I am so grateful for all of you. So much is focused on the digital nowadays, but it is truly these in person connections that are the most genuine opportunities I get to connect with readers. That's why I am so excited to have crossed the 1K milestone of signed, in-person books at events this year, because I know I have had the chance to meet all of you and thousands more. You have told me about your favorite books and why you love them, and you have been so supportive of my writing journey. This is my third year of doing in-person events and my seventh year as an author. It is insane to think that I was just doing a few small local comic cons in 2023 and now did 23 events over 35 days this year.
