Our officer talked to the owner and they decided to sign her over to the shelter. She displayed kennel reactivity when she first got here but her behavior has improved-see notes below. Please let us know if you can help Canela, she will be in danger on 7-22-24. Thanks! 📝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐀 is two years old. She is still very young. Baby Girl and her two pups came into the shelter on July 11th. We do not know what happened to her babies once they came into the shelter. Her intake shows that she is an animal cruelty case. She is heartworm negative. According to her behavior notes, she has a wagging body and tail and leashes. She barks at other dogs and tucks her tail when she is around them. She is a bit reactive around other dogs, it may or may not be because of the environment she is currently in. Her world has been turned upside down. She was pulled as an animal cruelty, taken from her home, separated from her babies, and is in a strange place. This beautiful girl needs truly needs a caring home. She needs a foster family that will love her and show her kindness. She doesn't deserve to die because she is an animal cruelty case. She will need a place to decompress and a slow introduction to other animals. 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐋𝐀 is on the euthanasia list for Monday; therefore, she does not have much time. Had to close row door. 7/18/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel she is low growling, forward barking. She did take treats and started wagging her tail, I placed leash and she walked with head low, low tail wag.
