LOOK | OVER 100 FOREIGN DELEGATES JOIN INVEST DAVAO: KADAYAWAN GLOBAL CONNECT 2025 As part of the Kadayawan Festival, Davao City strengthened its international linkages and positioned itself as a premier investment hub in Mindanao. On August 15, Acting Mayor Baste welcomed leaders and representatives from Palau, Japan, the United States, China, South Korea, Singapore, and Russia at Dusit Thani Hotel in Lanang, Davao City. The courtesy meetings were held under Invest Davao: Kadayawan Global Connect 2025, a three-day event organized by the Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC). A total of 113 foreign delegates attended, including 32 foreign companies who joined the business forum alongside 90 local companies. Delegates expressed admiration for Davao’s peace and order, cleanliness, and leadership—factors that continue to strengthen investor confidence. The event showcased Davao not only as a cultural and tourism destination but also as a strategic location for trade, education, and investment opportunities. DCIPC Head April Dayap emphasized that the goal of the event is to create meaningful connections with foreign investors so they can identify opportunities to bring their capital to Davao. Distinguished guests included Eyos Rudimch of the Koror State Government in Palau, Yamamoto Yuma of Sennan City in Japan, Zheng Feng of the Dalian Municipal Government in China, and Ria J. Jumawan Johnson from Tacoma City, USA. Also present were representatives from South Korea, Russia, Singapore, Fuzhou, and Nanning. In his remarks, Mayor Baste described the event as a bridge of collaboration and goodwill, noting that just as the Kadayawan unites Davao’s eleven tribes, so too does it unite different nations and cultures in the spirit of mutual growth. He reaffirmed the city’s commitment to build more sister-city accords and expand partnerships that will generate long-term benefits for both Davao and its international partners.
