Fired for no good reason and right before the holidays. So now I’m out here in my driveway, under a lamplight, sanding this live-edge cedar table while the world sleeps. Not for a boss, not for a logo, but for my family — and for the pride that comes from building something real. I’ve spent months putting my heart and hands into projects that people called works of art, and still ended up starting over from scratch. But I’ll tell you this…I’m not done. The lights are still on, the saws still spin, and I’ll keep making ends meet one board at a time. This is what it looks like when the paychecks stop, but the purpose doesn’t.
